Minding You offers Anger Management therapy based on an evidence-based program that contains 8 modules, which take 8-12 weeks to complete. Each module teaches a different "tool" to help you better cope with negative emotions and anger-related issues as well as teaches and develops general life skills to control feelings to thoughts and thoughts to behaviors more effectively and productively. The modules cover topics such as coping with stress, developing empathy, improving communication skills, managing self-talk, controlling negative thinking, improving relationships skills, using healthy assertiveness skills, and learning to respond rather than react. Individual anger management therapy sessions are available any time convenient to a client’s schedule. These sessions incorporate the same anger management curriculum that is used in a group setting (offered 2-3 times per year) but come with the benefit of receiving one-on-one therapy and support to help address not only the material that needs to be ordered to meet court requirements, but also learn methods to improve emotional regulation skills and more productively manage stress and anxiety.
At the successful end of your sessions you will be awarded a certificate of completion.
You may be familiar with the external and internal pain and strife caused by your negative reactions to overpowering feelings. You are all too familiar with the aftermath of reactions and behaviors you wish never happened, that you now regret...
This evaluation generally takes about an hour to an hour and half. Please come prepared with a photo ID and your probation officer's information, and any other information you think may be relevant.
Payment is due at time of services.
Clinical evaluations and assessments are completed for a host of reasons. Whether your evaluation is being mandated as a requirement for a custody case, probation order, or other type of court mandate, the process should always be consistent, thorough and most importantly, unprejudiced. The staff at Minding You strive to ensure clients feel respected through this process, regardless of why they need to complete an evaluation or who is mandating the evaluation. We realize you are a unique person and the events you encountered are those of none other. Your evaluation should be just as individualized.
The evaluation process includes a clinical interview, consideration of behavioral dynamics, a clinical review of past or current mental health diagnosis, use current diagnostic criteria, and employ using topic-specific assessment tools where appropriate. We also educate clients and help you to understand the tools being administered and the outcomes they produce. While there often specific criteria to be "met” or "unmet", which may influence outcomes, we do not ever use a “cookie-cutter" formula to determine a client's final recommendations. At Minding You we take consider areas of need along with what strengths you possess. We do our best to get to know you (in the short amount of time the assessment takes) and want to offer findings that are true-to-life and realistic, backed by subjective findings which will help you in the areas needed most.
