Clinical evaluations and assessments are completed for a host of reasons. Whether your evaluation is being mandated as a requirement for a custody case, probation order, or other type of court mandate, the process should always be consistent, thorough and most importantly, unprejudiced. The staff at Minding You strive to ensure clients feel respected through this process, regardless of why they need to complete an evaluation or who is mandating the evaluation. We realize you are a unique person and the events you encountered are those of none other. Your evaluation should be just as individualized.
The evaluation process includes a clinical interview, consideration of behavioral dynamics, a clinical review of past or current mental health diagnosis, use current diagnostic criteria, and employ using topic-specific assessment tools where appropriate. We also educate clients and help you to understand the tools being administered and the outcomes they produce. While there often specific criteria to be "met” or "unmet", which may influence outcomes, we do not ever use a “cookie-cutter" formula to determine a client's final recommendations. At Minding You we take consider areas of need along with what strengths you possess. We do our best to get to know you (in the short amount of time the assessment takes) and want to offer findings that are true-to-life and realistic, backed by subjective findings which will help you in the areas needed most.
