Therapy for Neurodivergent Individuals with ADD/ADHD:

Embrace Your Strengths and Find Balance

Living with ADD/ADHD as a neurodivergent person can feel like your mind is always in motion—racing from one thought to the next without a pause. It's a constant stream of ideas, reminders, tasks, and distractions all competing for your attention. The mental noise can be overwhelming, and the chaos exhausting. There’s so much to do, so much to remember, and often, it feels like your brain is firing on all cylinders all the time—without an “off” switch.

As a therapist with ADHD  myself, I get it!

Living with ADHD as a neurodivergent person can feel like your brain is always on overdrive. So many ideas, so many tasks, so much energy—and yet, somehow, you still can’t remember where you put your keys... or why you walked into the kitchen. Focus, organization, and planning can feel like foreign concepts, especially when life keeps moving faster than your ability to keep up. And let’s be real—things rarely go as planned. (Because, what even is a plan?)

These daily challenges can leave you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and defeated—especially in a world that is designed for neurotypical brains. You might find yourself constantly asking, “Why can’t I just get it together?” and carrying around frustration, guilt, or shame when you feel like you’re falling short. The emotional toll is real, and it’s heavy.

As a therapist—and someone with ADHD combined type myself—I truly get it. ADHD isn’t a lack of attention; it’s often too much attention all at once, everywhere. Your brain picks up on everything—except maybe the one thing you’re supposed to be doing in the moment. It can feel like chasing a runaway train of thoughts while juggling flaming swords and wondering why everyone else seems so calm.

But here’s the truth: your brain isn’t broken. It’s just wired differently—literally - and that wiring comes with a ton of potential! Yes, it brings challenges, but it also brings creativity, resilience, wit, deep empathy, and the ability to hyper-focus and execute with stunning precision when something clicks. Therapy is not about changing who you are—it’s about learning how to work with your brain, not against it.

In ADHD therapy, we’ll work together to:

  • Build organizational systems that make sense for your brain
  • Strengthen focus and reduce distractions in realistic, flexible ways
  • Regulate emotional ups and downs with compassion, not shame
  • Create routines that actually support your lifestyle and energy levels
  • Untangle negative self-talk and rewrite the internal narrative
  • Celebrate your strengths as a neurodivergent individual, not downplay them

We’ll also dive into the emotional side of living with ADHD—the rejection sensitivity, the burnout, the perfectionism, and the fear of being “too much” or “not enough.” Together, we’ll explore how these patterns show up in your life, and find practical, empowering ways to create change.

You don’t have to keep pushing through on your own - because lets admit, you are likely barely making it though anyway.

Therapy can help you feel more understood, more in control, and more confident in your own skin - and in your own head. Let’s work together to create a life that finally feels like it works for you—not against you.
