At Minding You, we combine an evidence-based evaluation & a clinical assessment into one process, during one office visit session. The benefit to clients: you 'kill two birds with one stone' and receive recommendations that will met your court ordered requirements as well as receive clinical feedback that can help to ensures a well -rounded perspective is achieved and a client's needs are fully supported. While most court/ legal professionals use the two terms interchangeably, there is a difference and we ensure all the bases are covered. Whether your evaluation is being mandated as a requirement for a custody case, probation order, or another type of court mandate, the process should always be consistent, thorough, and most importantly, impartial.
The staff at Minding You strive to ensure clients feel respected through this process, regardless of why they need to complete an evaluation or who is mandating the evaluation. We realize you are a unique person and the events you encountered are those of none other.
Your evaluation should be just as individualized as you are.
The evaluation process includes a clinical interview, consideration of behavioral dynamics, review of past and/or current mental health issues, use of current diagnostic criteria, and utilization of topic-specific assessment tools. We also educate clients to understand the tools being administered and the outcomes produced.
While there are often specific criteria to be "met” or "unmet", we do not ever use a “cookie-cutter" formula to determine a final outcome or mandated recommendations. We also believe that recommendations must be true to life and realistic so they are attainable. All outcomes and final recommendations are backed by objective and subjective findings that will help you grow and make necessary changes in the areas needed most.
